Member Appreciation Block (MAB) Block #1

What is this? I want to do something special for my Facebook Group, so to celebrate the growth of this group for every 100 members I am going to post a new block.  The Facebook Group is already over 400 members in just a few weeks so I already need to do some catching up! My goal is to post a new block next Thursday and will continue that until I catch up with the membership numbers. Nothing would make me happier than to have to post two blocks every week!

Although I am posting these blocks as milestones for the Facebook Group I didn’t want to leave the followers of this blog out, that is why I have posted this information here also.

I have uploaded a one page PDF to the Files Section of the Facebook Group with the images included in this post.

Detailed unit construction information for the units in this block can be found in books: Nickel Quilts & Borders and Amazing Nickel Quilts

Estimated material requirements for a sampler quilt as well as a fun layout can be found in my Block of the Month: Color Me Happy Information in 3 sizes! Available in PDF or Print

Enjoy!

Color Options For The North Star State Quilt Along

I worked up some alternate colorway ideas for the North Star State quilt.  I happen to love the Lodge/Cabin look that I made my quilt in but others might enjoy these options.

First up is Teal with Orange/Peach

Alternate Colorway #2 Batiks with a black background.  I’m showing just one fabric used in the sashing but you could absolutely go scrappy there.

Alternate Colorway #3 the North Star State quilt is Red, White, Blue, and Gold!

I decided to swap out the White in the Red, Blue, and Gold quilt with Black and I like the results!

The first part of the North Star State Quilt Along will be the Materials Requirements and Cutting Information and it will be released on Monday 3/15/2021.

Now is the time to tell all your friends and quilting groups so others can join in and  have fun making this quilt!

Happy Quilting!
