Winter Carnival Part 3

When I was home I did make some progress on Winter Carnival.  For the pieced sashing I made Two Patches from prints and plaids.  Each rectangle of fabric measured 2 1/2″ x 5″ so you could cut these from 5″ squares or 2 1/2″ strips.

Then I joined three Two Patches together to form sections that are 12 1/2″ long. I’m loving these combinations of fabrics!

Next cut these sections in half.

Cut the side pieces 1 1/2″ x 12 1/2″ and sew these onto your checkerboard strips.

I only have the hourglass cornerstones to make and then I can set this quilt together!

This quilt as well as many others that I make, uses 5″ squares.  It’s a great quilt for charm packs, layer cakes, and of course stash fabrics.

Enjoy!
