Deli Geese Project – Block #32 – Fall Back

Here is block number #32 of the Deli Geese Block Project!

Fall Back

32 Fall Back

If I were to make this block and #31 again I would definitely use a darker fabric for the main fabric in the nine patch center.  I was trying to limit myself to just working with the fabrics in the charm pack but I can see I won’t be getting the contrast I like if I do that.

Block #32   uses the Bottom Units from Light Flying Geese Units.  Details of making the units are found here.

Fall Back uses:
A – four Bottom Units from Light Flying Geese units.
B – two 5″ squares cut in half on the diagonal
C – 2 3/8″ squares, 4 that are dark or medium and 5 that are light (background)
D – 2 1/4″ squares  background

After sewing the corner triangles to the nine patch square up to 8 1/2″.

This block will measure 12″ at this point and finish 11 1/2″

This block as well as many others in the Deli Geese Block Project uses 5″ squares.  It’s a great block for charm packs, layer cakes, and of course stash fabrics.

Deli Geese, because they’re sliced !

  1. I can see what you are saying about the darker center, but I do like it in that medium – it’s darker than the background – maybe swapping those two greens would have been more to your liking?
